Description

Experience skiing in the snow-covered Himalayan landscape of Gulmarg, one of India's established winter-sports destinations, with private SUV transfers from Srinagar.

The experience is designed primarily for beginners and leisure travellers who want to try skiing under the supervision of a local instructor. After reaching Gulmarg, guests meet the instructor, receive basic safety guidance and get fitted with skiing equipment before practising fundamental techniques on a suitable beginner slope.

Guests learn introductory skills such as maintaining balance, gliding, controlling speed and making basic snowplough stops. The lesson location and progression depend on snow cover, weather, slope conditions and the instructor's assessment.

Gulmarg is approximately 56–60 km from Srinagar, and the road journey generally takes around two hours in normal conditions. During winter, snow and road conditions may require a suitable 4x4 vehicle or a vehicle fitted with snow chains for the Tangmarg–Gulmarg section.

Guests should report 30 minutes before the scheduled activity at the designated meeting point.

Meet the private SUV driver at the designated pickup point along Dal Lake Boulevard. After checking the booking details and confirming the return arrangement, begin the road journey toward Gulmarg via Tangmarg. The transfer time may vary with winter traffic, snowfall and road conditions.
Guests selecting the central Srinagar pickup option meet the private SUV driver at the confirmed location around Lal Chowk. Begin the private transfer toward Gulmarg, travelling through the Kashmir Valley and onward to Tangmarg and Gulmarg.

The skiing activity takes place in Gulmarg, not Srinagar city; the road journey from Srinagar is approximately 56–60 km and usually takes around two hours in normal conditions.
The main skiing season is generally during winter, with current ski-school information commonly indicating a season from approximately December to early April, subject to snow and operating conditions.
Skiing is dependent on suitable snow cover, weather, slope access and instructor availability.
A local instructor provides basic guidance and supervises the beginner session; progression depends on individual ability and safety assessment.
Winter road conditions can change quickly. A suitable 4x4 vehicle or snow chains may be required on the Tangmarg–Gulmarg section.
