Description

Experience the Gulmarg Gondola Phase 1 ride, travelling from the Gulmarg base station to Kongdoori through the scenic mountain landscape of Kashmir.

Operated by the Jammu & Kashmir Cable Car Corporation, the first phase connects Gulmarg with Kongdoori, a mountain area surrounded by alpine scenery and seasonal snow. During the ascent, guests can enjoy panoramic views of forested slopes, open mountain terrain and the surrounding Himalayan landscape.

At Kongdoori, guests can spend time enjoying the mountain environment, taking photographs and exploring designated visitor areas, subject to weather, snow conditions and local safety instructions. The Phase 1 ticket covers the Gulmarg–Kongdoori route; travel onward to Apharwat is not included.

The package includes private SUV transfers from a selected pickup point in Gulmarg or Tangmarg, gondola Phase 1 admission and return transfer after the ride.

Meeting instruction:

Guests should report 30 minutes before the scheduled activity at the designated meeting point.

Important Notes

The Gulmarg Gondola is operated by the Jammu & Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC).
Phase 1 operates between the Gulmarg base station and Kongdoori; Phase 2 to Apharwat is a separate ticket and is not included.
JKCCC currently states that boarding begins at 08:00, entry closes at 15:30, and the last return is at 17:00. Operating hours may change.
The gondola is scheduled to close on the second and fourth Monday of each month for preventive maintenance; check the official schedule before booking.
Gondola tickets are date- and time-slot-specific. Guests should follow the time printed on the confirmed ticket.
Gondola operations are weather-dependent and may be suspended because of wind, snow, visibility or safety conditions.
Kongdoori is at high altitude. Guests should walk at a comfortable pace, stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity if feeling unwell.
Wear warm layered clothing and suitable footwear, especially during winter and snowy conditions. Follow all staff instructions and remain within permitted visitor areas.
