Sonamarg: Thajiwas Sledging Experience with Transfer

Experience snow sledging at Thajiwas Glacier near Sonamarg, one of Kashmir's best-known snow attractions.

Thajiwas is located a short distance from Sonamarg and is reached from the main meadow by walking or by local pony arrangements. The glacier area retains snow well beyond the lower valley season, making it a popular location for snow activities and photography. Current travel information places the best general visiting window around May to October, with the strongest sledging conditions generally when substantial snow remains in the Thajiwas area.

Guests travel by private SUV to Sonamarg, continue toward the Thajiwas access area and arrange the local snow sledge ride. Sledge rides are normally negotiated or arranged locally and can vary according to snow conditions, route and local operator rates.
