Sonamarg: Thajiwas Glacier Snow Experience with Transfers

Experience the spectacular alpine landscape of Thajiwas Glacier near Sonamarg, with private SUV transfers from Srinagar.

The journey follows the Sindh Valley toward Sonamarg, approximately 80–88 km from Srinagar depending on the route and reference point. Sonamarg itself sits at roughly 2,740–3,000 metres, while Thajiwas Glacier is higher at around 3,000 metres.

After reaching Sonamarg, guests continue toward the Thajiwas Glacier area on foot or by locally operated pony services, depending on seasonal conditions and the selected arrangement.

During suitable snow conditions, guests can walk through snow, enjoy snow play, photograph the surrounding mountains and glacier landscape, and experience the high-altitude winter environment.

Snow availability is seasonal and weather dependent. The glacier area can retain snow well into the warmer months, while winter conditions can bring substantially deeper snow and require additional local winter transport or equipment.
