Day 1: Ride from Leh to Sumur via Khardung La

The expedition begins early morning from Leh (approx. 3,500m) as riders gear up for one of Ladakh’s most iconic Himalayan road journeys. Ride through winding mountain roads and dramatic landscapes while ascending towards Khardung La Pass (approx. 5,359m), one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world. After crossing the pass, descend towards the stunning Nubra Valley region known for its cold desert terrain, mountain villages, and rugged Himalayan scenery. Multiple short halts may be taken during the ride for photography, refreshments, acclimatization, and operational breaks depending on weather and road conditions. Continue the journey towards Sumur village where overnight stay will be arranged in a budget homestay or campsite. Dinner will be served followed by overnight stay amidst the peaceful landscapes of Nubra Valley.

Important Notes

This is a high-altitude Himalayan bike expedition focused primarily on the riding experience and not on detailed sightseeing exploration of the Siachen Valley region.
The ride towards the Siachen Base Camp sector will be conducted only till the point where civilian bikes and travelers are officially permitted by local authorities and operational conditions. Access to inner restricted military areas is strictly prohibited.
A minimum of 2 days of proper acclimatization in Leh is mandatory before joining this expedition.
Riders should have prior experience riding motorcycles in mountain terrain and high-altitude conditions.
Roads throughout the route may include rough terrain, broken patches, water crossings, steep ascents, and remote Himalayan stretches.
Bike fuel for the complete expedition is included in the package.
Riding gear including helmets, jackets, gloves, knee guards, and riding accessories are not included and should be arranged personally by the rider.
Accommodation will be provided in a budget homestay or campsite in Sumur village with basic facilities.
Carry warm clothing, riding gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, energy snacks, and personal medications.
Basic first aid kit and oxygen cylinder support are available during the expedition.
In case a traveler feels unwell during the journey, basic oxygen and first aid support will be provided wherever operationally possible. Additional evacuation, taxi support, medical transport, or emergency arrangements if required shall be chargeable directly to the traveler.
Only one small backpack or duffle bag per rider is recommended. Large luggage bags or suitcases are not advisable for this expedition.
Mobile network connectivity may remain limited or unavailable in several sections of the route.
Travelers are advised to carry sufficient cash as ATMs and digital payment networks may not function reliably in remote regions.
Any delays caused due to weather, snowfall, landslides, military restrictions, roadblocks, traffic, or operational conditions are beyond operational control.
