Day 1: Journey from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La

The journey begins from Hotel Panorama in Leh where travelers board the shared SUV or begin the bike ride towards Nubra Valley. Drive through the dramatic Himalayan landscapes while gradually ascending towards Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. Enjoy panoramic mountain views, rugged terrain, and high-altitude scenery while crossing the iconic pass. Multiple short halts may be taken during the journey for refreshments, photography, and operational breaks depending on weather and road conditions. After descending from Khardung La, continue towards the beautiful Nubra Valley region known for its cold desert landscapes, mountain villages, and scenic valleys. En route, visit the famous Diskit Monastery known for its giant Maitreya Buddha statue and panoramic valley views. If time permits, travelers may also visit the famous Hunder Sand Dunes for a short experience amidst Nubra’s unique cold desert landscapes. In case of operational delays or time constraints, the sand dunes visit may be covered while traveling onwards from Nubra towards Pangong. By evening, arrive in Nubra Valley and check in to the budget hotel/camp. Dinner will be served followed by an overnight stay.
