Kenya: Tsavo East Photography Safari with Transfers

  • Kenya
  • • Wildlife & Nature
  • • Duration 12 hour

Description

Tsavo East Photography Safari is a wildlife-focused experience created for travellers who want to spend their safari looking not only for animals, but also for the right light, composition, behaviour and landscape. Tsavo East is one of Kenya’s largest protected areas and is famous for its vast semi-arid wilderness, red-earth scenery and distinctive red elephants. The park also contains dramatic photographic landscapes around the Galana River and the Yatta Plateau, creating opportunities for both wildlife and environmental photography.

The safari begins with an early departure to take advantage of the cooler morning hours and softer natural light. Once inside the park, the guide focuses on productive wildlife areas and allows additional time where interesting photographic opportunities develop. Depending on seasonal conditions and wildlife movements, guests may photograph elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes and a wide variety of birds.

Unlike a standard sightseeing game drive, the pace is intentionally flexible. The guide may pause longer at a wildlife sighting, reposition the vehicle where permitted, or wait for interesting behaviour such as elephants crossing the road, predators becoming active or birds taking flight.

The experience also incorporates landscape photography, with opportunities to capture Tsavo's red soil, acacia vegetation, riverine scenery and expansive horizons. Sightings are never guaranteed, and all wildlife viewing follows park regulations. KWS requires visitors to remain on established roads and trails, keep a safe distance from wildlife and observe the 40 km/h speed limit.
