The Gondola operates in two main phases. Phase 1 travels from Gulmarg to Kongdoori, while Phase 2 continues from Kongdoori toward Apharwat at approximately 3,980 metres.

The combined ride provides a dramatic change in scenery from Gulmarg's alpine meadow and pine forests to the higher mountain environment above the tree line. Depending on the season and operating conditions, guests can experience green meadows, mountain landscapes or snow-covered terrain.

The Gulmarg Gondola has two principal phases: Gulmarg–Kongdoori and Kongdoori–Apharwat.
Gondola fares and ticket conditions can change; the official J&K Cable Car Corporation booking portal should be treated as the final fare authority.
Gondola tickets are date and time-slot dependent, so guests should reserve the correct travel date in advance.
Phase 2 is more sensitive to wind, snow, visibility and operational restrictions than Phase 1.
Weather conditions can result in temporary suspension or modification of Gondola operations.
The Phase 2 station reaches approximately 3,980 metres, so guests should be prepared for cold temperatures and reduced oxygen levels.
Comfortable warm clothing, gloves, sunglasses and suitable footwear are recommended, particularly during winter.
Gondola cabins are shared with other passengers even though the road transfer is private.
